On 22 April, we were delighted to be part of The Loop Celebration at 119 Wallis Road, E9 5LN — an inspiring gathering that brought together community and the innovative businesses driving circular and sustainable practices forward.
Throughout the day, visitors took part in a range of hands-on workshops and activities designed to make sustainability accessible, practical, and engaging:
- A flax processing workshop led by Nick from Fantasy Fibremill, offering a fascinating look into traditional fibre techniques and sustainable textile production.
- The Are You Mad workshop, exploring creative approaches to reuse.
- Looply's interactive session on soft plastic recycling, equipping attendees with tangible ways to rethink everyday waste.
- A workshop by Growing Concern gardening centre.
In May 2026 there will be further sustainable events, including a textile sale by Yodomo.
Celebrating Our Sustainable Partners
This event would not have been possible without our dedicated partners, whose creativity and commitment continue to inspire change. Through their workshops and conversations, they opened up new ways for the community to engage with sustainability — not as an abstract idea, but as something hands-on, local, and achievable. We are proud to be part of this circle and work alongside partners who are rethinking materials, reducing waste, and building circular solutions from the ground up.
The Loop will be closing at the end of May. It's been a really valuable space for testing ideas, working with partners, and opening up conversations around reuse and sustainability. We'll continue to support similar activity in other locations and keep working with our existing and new partners to explore practical, community-led approaches to circular living.
Building stronger communities together
We believe communities are strongest when people get involved. Whether you've got time, skills, energy, ideas – or just curiosity – there's a place for you here.
Our volunteers are the heart of what we do. Many of them are also part of our community and beneficiaries of our work – which means everything we create is shaped by real people, real needs, and real experiences.
